| Gene Description | WWC1, WW and C2 domain containing 1, encodes a scaffold protein that negatively regulates cell proliferation via suppression of Yap and subsequent downregulation of the Hippo signaling pathway (PMID: 22614006, PMID: 24682284), and plays a role in regulating cell migration (PMID: 18596123, PMID: 24642126), and cell polarity (PMID: 21497093). Increased WWC1 expression has been identified in prostate cancer (PMID: 27220053), whereas decreased WWC1 expression has been identified in high grade breast cancer (PMID: 31102318), and a fusion with FAM174A has been identified in colorectal cancer (PMID: 31228769). | ||||||||||
