| Gene Description | HPCAL1, hippocalcin like 1, encodes a neuronal calcium sensor protein (PMID: 27820860) involved in calcium binding and myristoylation thereby potentially leading to regulation of various cellular signaling pathways (PMID: 12445467), including the MAPK pathway (PMID: 12445467, PMID: 18989702). Decreased expression of HPCAL1 has been identified in hepatocellular carcinoma (PMID: 26659654), while increased expression has been observed in glioblastoma (PMID: 30843345), and a fusion with ALK has been identified in non-small cell lung cancer (PMID: 32523354). | ||||||||||
