| Gene Description | YPEL5, yippee like 5, is a member of the YPEL family of proteins, which plays a role in cell cycle progression and growth via binding to Ran binding proteins, and localizes to the centrosome and nucleus during interphase, the mitotic spindle during mitosis, and the midbody during cytokinesis (PMID: 20580816, PMID: 15556292). A fusion with YPEL5 and PPP1CB has been identified in chronic lymphocytic leukemia (PMID: 23382248), chronic myeloid leukemia, monoclonal B cell lymphocytosis, and acute leukemias (PMID: 26605151). | ||||||||||
