| Gene Description | STAT1, signal transducer and activator of transcription 1, is a STAT family transcription factor (PMID: 31605750) that plays a role in innate immunity and response to growth factors via transcription of anti-viral and cell cycle regulatory genes (PMID: 24058806). STAT1 mRNA expression levels have been associated with favorable (PMID: 12374673) and poor breast cancer prognoses (PMID: 24725474), and STAT1 functions as both an oncogene and tumor suppressor (PMID: 28950072). | ||||||||||
