| Gene Description | ZBTB16, zinc finger and BTB domain containing 16, encodes a member of the POK family of transcription factors (PMID: 24821727) that is involved in several biological processes via its transcriptional activity, including stem cell renewal and maintenance (PMID: 22822476), spermatogenesis (PMID: 15156143), myeloid differentiation (PMID: 19723763), T cell development (PMID: 34349770), and apoptosis (PMID: 17537403), and may act as a tumor suppressor (PMID: 22822476). A fusion between ZBTB16 and RARA has been identified in acute promyelocytic leukemia (PMID: 22205181), and decreased expression has been observed in prostate cancer (PMID: 25807461) and non-small cell lung cancer (PMID: 26297253). | ||||||||||
