| Gene Description | HDAC5, histone deacetylase 5, is a member of the class II HDAC family (PMID: 25244360) that functions in deacetylation of histone proteins to repress transcription (PMID: 10748098), and plays a role in neuronal axonal regeneration (PMID: 24209626, PMID: 22692128), memory formation (PMID: 22914591), and angiogenesis (PMID: 19351956). Increased HDAC5 expression has been observed in several tumor types including hepatocellular carcinoma (PMID: 24706304), melanoma (PMID: 26747087), and medulloblastoma (PMID: 20413433). | ||||||||||
