| Gene Description | CDKN1A, cyclin dependent kinase inhibitor 1A, also known as p21, is activated by Tp53 and may be the mediator of Tp53 inhibition of cell proliferation and induction of apoptosis (PMID: 10090408) and functions in the DNA damage response (PMID: 20096807). Loss of Cdkn1a may enable cell proliferation and migration in gastric (PMID: 29602637), liver (PMID: 29408622), bladder (PMID: 29602637), and osteosarcoma cancers (PMID: 29115549) and decreased expression in chromophobe renal cell carcinoma is associated with decreased survival (PMID: 32079343). | ||||||||||
