| Gene Description | DNAJC21, DnaJ heat shock protein family (Hsp40) member C21, encodes a protein that plays a role in ribosome biogenesis (PMID: 17242366, PMID: 20368619), and the cytoplasmic recycling of ribosomal components (PMID: 17652132, PMID: 19901025). DNAJC21 mutations have been identified in Shwachmann-Diamond syndrome (PMID: 28062395), a bone marrow failure syndrome that is associated with increased risk for myelodysplastic syndrome and acute myelogenous leukemia (PMID: 28637614). | ||||||||||
