Gene Description DDIT3, DNA damage inducible transcript 3, also known as CHOP, is a member of the CCAAT/enhancer-binding protein transcription factor family and is activated by cytotoxicity in the unfolded protein response and endoplasmic reticulum stress (PMID: 31632741), and promotes apoptosis (PMID: 28860664). A recurrent FUS-DDIT3 fusion has been associated with myxoid liposarcoma (PMID: 32278233, PMID: 16651630, PMID: 18850010), amplification of DDIT3 has been identified in dedifferentiated liposarcoma (PMID: 30420727), and overexpression of Ddit3 has been observed in gastric cancer (PMID: 32189359).
