| Gene Description | IRF8, interferon regulatory factor 8, encodes for a member of the IRF family of transcription factors, playing a role in immune response (PMID: 32232558) and the differentiation of dendritic cells and B-cells (PMID: 24807060). Loss of IRF8 has been linked to the development of chronic myeloid leukemia (PMID: 17189268), and Irf8 downregulation has been observed in esophageal, breast, cervical, lung, and colorectal cancers (PMID: 18469857), while increased expression in macrophages has been associated with prolonged survival in renal cell carcinoma (PMID: 31221219). | ||||||||||
