| Gene Description | ID2, inhibitor of DNA binding 2, dominant negative helix-loop-helix protein, is a HLH transcription factor family member that lacks a DNA binding domain, which binds to other HLH proteins and prevents their DNA-binding activity (PMID: 25248477, PMID: 16034366). Overexpression of Id2 has been associated with several tumor types (PMID: 12842081) and may play a role in initiating breast ductal carcinoma in situ formation (PMID: 30725231). | ||||||||||
