| Gene Description | HES5, hes family bHLH transcription factor 5, is a member of the basic helix-loop-helix transcriptional repressor family and is activated downstream of the NOTCH pathway to regulate cell differentiation (PMID: 27878283). Hypermethylation of the HES5 promoter has been observed early in prostate tumorogenesis (PMID: 25560400), while overexpression of HES5 has been demonstrated in NSCLC (PMID: 27878283) and has been associated with a 15-gene signature for prediction of colon cancer recurrence (PMID: 27998790). | ||||||||||
