| Gene Description | MUC4, mucin 4, cell surface associated, is a membrane-bound glycoprotein with roles in cell protection, adhesion, differentiation, and proliferation, and in cancer progression (PMID: 20001800, PMID: 18024835). Altered expression of Muc4 is associated with several tumor types (PMID: 20001800), including increased expression in bone marrow, where Muc4 has been associated with decreased survival in acute myeloid leukemia (PMID: 32270747), and Muc4 overexpression in pancreatic cancer may serve as a targetable tumor antigen (PMID: 28460571, PMID: 31952903). | ||||||||||
