| Gene Description | ETNK1, ethanolamine kinase 1, phosphorylates ethanolamine and initiates the biosynthesis of phosphatidylethanolamine (PMID: 11044454), which is a major phospholipid of the mammalian cell membrane and is involved in a variety of diseases (PMID: 28785375). ETNK1 mutations have been identified in systemic mastocytosis and chronic myeloid leukemia (PMID: 25615281, PMID: 25343957), and amplification of ETNK1 has been identified in testicular seminoma (PMID: 11912161) and lung adenocarcinoma (PMID: 31448219). | ||||||||||
