| Gene Description | TRPV6, transient receptor potential cation channel subfamily V member 6, is a member of the TRPV (vanilloid) subfamily of transient receptor (TRP) channels that forms a calcium sensitive ion channel and plays a role in calcium homeostasis (PMID: 28501141). Overexpression of Trpv6 has been observed in ovarian, (PMID: 30210643), pancreatic (PMID: 29344675), prostate (PMID: 24704446), and breast cancer (PMID: 28008282), where it may increase cell proliferation in a calcium-dependent manner (PMID: 28501141). | ||||||||||
