| Gene Description | SOX6, SRY-box 6, is a member SRY superfamily of transcription factors and plays a role in regulation of cell proliferation and differentiation (PMID: 21495113, PMID: 23731550). Expression of SOX6 has been demonstrated to be altered in several tumor types, including glioma, esophageal squamous cell carcinoma, and hepatocellular carcinoma (PMID: 15696967, PMID: 21084391, PMID: 23731550), and a SOX6-BRAF fusion has been identified in atypical Spitz tumor (PMID: 23890088). | ||||||||||
