| Gene Description | BCAN, brevican, is an extracellular matrix molecule (PMID: 31558805) and chondroitin sulfate proteoglycan, which plays a role in neuronal attachment and neurite out-growth (PMID: 20840587). Tumor-specific isoforms of brevican have been identified in gliomas and are associated with glioma progression (PMID: 16061654) and a BCAN-NTRK1 fusion has been identified in glioblastoma multiforme (PMID: 24647444). | ||||||||||
