| Gene Description | SOS1, SOS Ras/Rac guanine nucleotide exchange factor 1, is a Grb2 anchored membrane bound protein (PMID: 28452363), which acts as a GTP exchange factor to activate RAS proteins (PMID: 21779500, PMID: 30683722) and enhance downstream signaling of MAPK and PI3K pathways (PMID: 30735352). Germline Sos1 mutations are commonly observed in Noonan syndrome (PMID: 30635434) and somatic Sos1 gain of function mutations have been identified in lung adenocarcinoma (PMID: 30635434). | ||||||||||
