| Gene Description | STAT5A, signal transducer and activator of transcription 5A, is a transcription factor of the JAK/STAT signaling pathway (PMID: 31690038) that regulates proliferation and differentiation of hematopoietic cells and plays a role in mammary gland development (PMID: 23541951, PMID: 24416653). Activation of STAT5A is associated with prostate cancer, breast cancer, and hematological cancers (PMID: 21704724, PMID: 25333255, PMID: 31123029), and overexpression has been observed in basal cell carcinoma (PMID: 31323143), while decreased expression has been associated with poor prognosis in osteosarcoma (PMID: 30638860). | ||||||||||
