| Gene Description | TPM4, tropomyosin 4, is a member of the tropomyosin family of actin-interacting proteins, which plays a role in regulation of actin function in the cytoskeleton (PMID: 26240174). A TPM4-ALK fusion has been identified in inflammatory myofibroblastic tumors (PMID: 10934142), a TPM4-NTRK3 fusion has been associated with sarcoma (PMID: 28719467), and Tpm4 overexpression has been observed in the saliva of patients with oral squamous cell carcinoma (PMID: 31804537), while decreased expression has been associated with poor prognosis in colon cancer (PMID: 29455030). | ||||||||||
