| Gene Description | WNT1, Wnt family member 1, is a secreted cytokine that binds the receptors, frizzled (Fz) and low density lipoprotein receptor-related protein (LRP), to activate beta-catenin (CTNNB1; PMID: 27197202, PMID: 28528193) and functions in bone development and cell migration (PMID: 27626678). Overexpression of WNT1 has been observed in a variety of tumors, including renal cell carcinoma, hepatocellular carcinoma, thyroid carcinoma, head and neck squamous cell carcinoma, and uterine corpus endometrial carcinoma (PMID: 32201670), potentially resulting in cell proliferation and metastasis (PMID: 27626678). | ||||||||||
