| Gene Description | SMARCA5, SWI/SNF related, matrix associated, actin dependent regulator of chromatin, subfamily a, member 5, is an ATPase subunit of ISWI family chromatin remodeling complexes and plays a role in DNA damage response and double strand break repair (PMID: 25486562). Overexpression of Smarca5 has been demonstrated in gastric and breast cancer (PMID: 25377162, PMID: 21261476), and a EWSR1-SMARCA5 fusion has been identified in Ewing sarcoma/primitive neuroectodermal tumor (PMID: 21113140), and downregulated circular RNA SMARCA5 may play a role in tumor cell proliferation (PMID: 31880360, PMID: 31944395). | ||||||||||
