| Gene Description | LGR5, leucine rich repeat containing G protein-coupled receptor 5, encodes a receptor that binds R-spondin and mediates Wnt signaling (PMID: 21909076, PMID: 21693646), plays a role in cytoneme formation (PMID: 25653388), and is a marker for intestinal stem cells (PMID: 17934449, PMID: 24677446) and cancer stem cells (PMID: 29416699, PMID: 28355176, PMID: 34857912). Increased LGR5 expression has been identified in colorectal cancer (PMID: 31814939) and epithelial ovarian cancer (PMID: 26113008). | ||||||||||
