Title Impact of combination chemotherapy with itraconazole on survival of patients with refractory ovarian cancer.
URL
Abstract Text After progression during chemotherapy, persistent ovarian cancer rarely responds to cytotoxic agents. We evaluated the use of adjunctive itraconazole for treating refractory ovarian cancer.Medical records of patients with ovarian cancer were retrospectively reviewed to select those with a history of platinum and taxane administration, clinical progression within six months of the last platinum administration, continuation of chemotherapy after the first progression during chemotherapy.Among 55 patients, itraconazole in combination with chemotherapy was administered to 19 patients. The median progression-free survival (PFS) was 103 days and 53 days for chemotherapy with and without itraconazole, respectively (p=0.014). The corresponding median overall survival was 642 days and 139 days, respectively (p=0.006). The hazard ratio for PFS was 0.24 (p=0.002) and for overall survival was 0.27 (p=0.006) for therapy with itraconazole.Adjunctive itraconazole is promising for patients with refractory ovarian cancer.

Filtering

  • Case insensitive filtering will display rows if any text in any cell matches the filter term
  • Use simple literal full or partial string matches
  • Separate multiple filter terms with a space. Any order may be used (i. e. a b c and c b a are equivalent )
  • Filtering will only apply to rows that are already loaded on the page. Filtering has no impact on query parameters.
  • Use quotes to match on a longer phrase with spaces (i.e. "mtor c1483f")

Sorting

  • Generally, the default sort order for tables is set to be first column ascending; however, specific tables may set a different default sort order.
  • Click on any column header arrows to sort by that column
  • Hold down the Shift key and click multiple columns to sort by more than one column. Be sure to set ascending or descending order for a given column before moving on to the next column.
