| Gene Description | CDK5, cyclin dependent kinase 5, is an atypical CDK that is not activated by an associated cyclin (PMID: 28077789), is highly expressed in neurons (PMID: 30410599), and plays a role in regulating the cell-cycle (PMID: 29312535) and DNA damage repair (PMID: 27917404). Overexpression of Cdk5 has been correlated with decreased survival in lung cancer (PMID: 30410599), with enhanced cell proliferation in hepatocellular carcinoma (PMID: 29312535), and is associated with a variety of other solid tumors, including breast, colon, pancreatic, melanoma, thyroid and brain (PMID: 27917404). | ||||||||||
