Gene Description POLQ, DNA polymerase theta, is a promiscuous DNA polymerase that regulates microhomology-mediated end-joining in response to double-stranded DNA breaks (PMID: 25642963, PMID: 31537809). POLQ expression is elevated in epithelial ovarian cancers and is associated with homologous recombination activity (PMID: 25642963).
