| Gene Description | MUC17, mucin 17, cell surface associated, is a membrane-bound glycoprotein expressed by intestinal epithelia with proposed roles in cell protection and restitution (PMID: 16737958, PMID: 20702471) and may play a role in inflammation (PMID: 31387973). Overexpression of Muc17 has been associated with pancreatic cancer (PMID: 19817750, PMID: 16737958), MUC17 variants may predict response to chemotherapy in breast cancer (PMID: 31879365), and deletion of MUC17 has been reported in biliary tract cancer (PMID: 29360550). | ||||||||||
