| Gene Description | EIF4E, eukaryotic translation initiation factor 4E, encodes a protein that is essential for initiation of protein translation in the cytoplasm and also plays a role in nuclear export of some mRNAs (PMID: 29396141, PMID: 20049173). EIF4E overexpression has been identified in multiple tumor types (PMID: 20049173) including breast (PMID: 7665244), head and neck (PMID: 9247311), and colorectal cancers (PMID: 28242042). | ||||||||||
