Gene Description FHIT, fragile histidine triad diadenosine triphosphatase, is a tumor suppressor (PMID: 11517343, PMID: 25283145) involved in genome stability (PMID: 23209436, PMID: 23929738, PMID: 23102829) and activation of apoptotic pathways (PMID: 23102829, PMID: 25283145). Decreased expression or aberrant methylation of FHIT has been observed in a variety of cancers (PMID: 25283145, PMID: 36831487) including non-small cell lung cancer (PMID: 28036263), acute lymphoblastic leukemia (PMID: 29085517, PMID: 38587694), and esophageal squamous cell carcinoma (PMID: 27110300).
