Gene Description CIC, capicua transcriptional repressor, is a member of the HMG-box superfamily of transcriptional repressors that regulates gene activation downstream of EGFR/Ras/ERK signaling (PMID: 32029440, PMID: 30737375, PMID: 29578365) and is negatively regulated by SRC (PMID: 32029440). CIC mutations have been observed in oligodendroglioma (PMID: 21817013; PMID: 22588899), multiple myeloma (PMID: 32043788), and fusions are associated with sarcoma (PMID: 16717057, PMID: 31870501), while decreased expression has been reported in glioblastoma (PMID: 30737375).
