Gene Description GATA3, GATA binding protein 3, is a trans-acting T-cell-specific and zinc-finger transcription factor that regulates development and differentiation (PMID: 7550312) and plays a vital role in immune function (PMID: 21924928). GATA3 regulates tumor differentiation in breast cancer (PMID: 20189993, PMID: 28703335), suppresses neoplastic transformation of urothelial cells (PMID: 25232488), and is frequently mutated in breast cancer (PMID: 32232341).
