| Gene Description | BBC3, BCL2 binding component 3, is also referred to as PUMA and is a member of the BH3-only Bcl2 protein family that promotes both Tp53-dependent and -independent apoptosis through inhibition of antiapoptotic Bcl2 family members (PMID: 19641508, PMID: 14585351). BBC3 overexpression has been identified in hepatocellular carcinoma (PMID: 30712844) and pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma (PMID: 23321162), and decreased BBC3 expression has been identified in colorectal cancer (PMID: 29344228), Burkitt’s lymphoma, and cutaneous melanoma (PMID: 19641508). | ||||||||||
