| Gene Description | NEK8, NIMA related kinase 8, is a serine/threonine kinase of the never-in-mitosis A (NIMA) family which regulates mitotic entry (PMID: 23132929), cilia disassembly, and activation of the DNA damage response (PMID: 30333866, PMID: 27892797). NEK8 mutations have been identified in renal and breast cancer (PMID: 25451921, PMID: 15019993), and overexpression has been associated with decreased survival in gastric cancer (PMID: 30333866). | ||||||||||
