| Gene Description | ANK3, ankyrin 3, encodes Ankyrin G, which is a member of the Ankyrin family of proteins involved in assembly of the axon initial segment (AIS) and regulation of neuron polarity (PMID: 29749636, PMID: 17311847), and plays a role in regulation of Wnt signaling and neural progenitor proliferation (PMID: 24821222), lateral membrane formation (PMID: 17620337), and glucose transporter recruitment (PMID: 33972734). An ANK3-RET fusion has been identified in non-small cell lung cancer (PMID: 35571397) and a CCDC6-ANK3 fusion has been identified in ovarian, endometrial, and breast cancers (PMID: 33097743). | ||||||||||
