Gene Description DROSHA, drosha ribonuclease type III, functions as part of the microprocessor complex to initiate microRNA maturation (PMID: 25027649). Mutations in DROSHA are associated with Wilms tumor (PMID: 24909261), downregulation of DROSHA is associated with poor prognosis in several tumor types (PMID: 25351346), decreased mRNA expression has been observed in breast carcinoma (PMID: 28598829), and dysregulation of miRNA biogenesis has been associated with altered Drosha expression in colorectal cancer (PMID: 31510013) and clear cell renal cell carcinoma (PMID: 31516620).
