Gene Description H2BC5, H2B clustered histone 5, is a member of the histone H2B family of proteins with limited characterization that may play a role in nucleosome assembly and cellular differentiation (PMID: 23717473). Overexpression of H2BC5 has been demonstrated in various cancers, including hepatocellular carcinoma, retinoblastoma, B-cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia (PMID: 20621981), and is associated with survival in cervical squamous cell carcinoma (PMID: 29184082).
