| Gene Description | FOXA1, forkhead box A1, is a transcription factor that de-compacts condensed chromatin to expose hormone receptor binding sites (PMID: 31243372) and plays a role in regulation of tissue-specific gene expression, gene expression in differentiated tissue, and androgen signalling (PMID: 22722839). Foxa1 expression has been associated with various tumor types (PMID: 24948874; PMID: 24596370; PMID: 24528009) and is often mutated in hormone-receptor-driven prostate, breast, bladder and salivary cancers (PMID: 31243372). | ||||||||||
