Gene Description KIR2DL1, killer cell immunoglobulin like receptor, two Ig domains and long cytoplasmic tail 1, encodes for a transmembrane glycoprotein and inhibitory killer cell immunoglobulin like receptor (KIR) that is present on the surface of natural killer cells and prevents activation of NK cells (PMID: 18574028, PMID: 27893413, PMID: 31024561). KIR2DL1 expression has been suggested to participate in immune resistance in cancer (PMID: 24592397) and expression in non-small cell lung cancer has been associated with decreased survival (PMID: 27893413).
