| Gene Description | LTBP1, latent transforming growth factor beta binding protein 1, is an extracellular matrix protein that mediates TGF-beta sequestration and activation (PMID: 10646116, PMID: 15184403), promotes the epithelial to mesenchymal transition (PMID: 21494784, PMID: 32216815), and plays a role in cell development (PMID: 11102524, PMID: 35320333) and tissue homeostasis (PMID: 35452817). Increased expression of LTBP1 has been observed in esophageal squamous cell carcinoma (PMID: 32216815) and lymphoma (PMID: 34418460), and an LTBP1-ALK fusion has been identified in lung adenocarcinoma (PMID: 35242631). | ||||||||||
