| Gene Description | MAX, MYC associated factor X, is a member of the helix-loop-helix leucine zipper transcription factor family, and acts as a transcriptional cofactor for Myc family members, playing a role in regulation of cell growth (PMID: 16908182, PMID: 11031250). MAX inactivating mutations and deletions are associated with gastrointestinal stromal tumors (PMID: 28270683), have been identified in pheochromocytoma (PMID: 22452945), and Max may function as a tumor suppressor in small cell lung cancer (PMID: 32470392). | ||||||||||
