| Gene Description | PRKAA1, protein kinase AMP-activated catalytic subunit alpha 1, is a catalytic subunit of AMP-activated protein kinase (AMPK), an energy sensor protein kinase that plays a key role in regulating cellular energy metabolism (PMID: 24895169). AMPK has been shown to play a role in inhibiting tumor growth and metastasis (PMID: 24895169) and overexpression of Prkaa1 may promote cell proliferation in gastric cancer cells (PMID: 31558185, PMID: 31841039). | ||||||||||
