| Gene Description | PSMB5, proteasome subunit beta 5, is a subunit of the 20S proteasome core complex, which plays a role in degradation of proteins involved in cycle cycle regulation, proliferation, transcriptional regulation, and antigen presentation (PMID: 24252210, PMID: 29218236). PSMB5 mutations and overexpression have been identified as mechanisms of acquired resistance to proteasome inhibitors, such as bortezomib, in leukemia (PMID: 18502982) and TNBC (PMID: 18502982). | ||||||||||
