| Gene Description | PRDM9, PR/SET domain 9, is a histone methyltransferase that trimethylates H3K4 (H3K4me3) during meiotic prophase and controls the activation of recombination hot spots (PMID: 24634223) and functions as an epigenetic regulator (PMID: 27153352). Allelic variants of PRDM9 are associated with childhood leukemias (PMID: 24754746; PMID: 23222848) and PRDM9 overexpression (PMID: 30341163) and mutations have been observed in head and neck squamous cell carcinoma (PMID: 31848333) and several other solid tumor types (PMID: 30347759). | ||||||||||
