| Gene Description | REL, REL proto-oncogene, NF-kB subunit, encodes a part of the NF-kB dimer, which acts as a transcription factor to enable proliferation, growth, survival, and maturation of B and T-cells (PMID: 22207895), regulate fibrosis, wound healing, and inflammation, and, in some contexts, support transformation (PMID: 26757421, PMID: 31277415). Amplification of REL is associated with both B-cell and T-cell malignancies (PMID: 22207895) and nuclear accumulation of Rel has been identified in breast cancer (PMID: 10713699). | ||||||||||
