| Gene Description | SOS2, SOS Ras/Rho guanine nucleotide exchange factor 2, encodes a cytosolic protein that localizes to the membrane upon binding to Grb2 (PMID: 34205562, PMID: 7629138, PMID: 10675333) and stimulates GDP/GTP exchange to activate RAS proteins (PMID: 21779500) and subsequent downstream PI3K/AKT signaling (PMID: 34205562, PMID: 33946974, PMID: 30181243). Germline mutations in SOS2 has been observed in Noonan syndrome (PMID: 32788663, PMID: 25795793) and somatic mutations in SOS2 have been identified in gallbladder cancer (PMID: 24997986). | ||||||||||
