| Gene Description | DST, dystonin, is a member of the plakin family of cytoskeleton linker proteins (PMID: 24352042) that produces multiple tissue-specific isoforms (PMID: 11514586), which maintain the functional integrity of hemidesmosomes in the epithelium (PMID: 7736575), regulate cytoskeleton organization and vesicle transportation in neurons (PMID: 9604204, PMID: 23273860), and play a role in muscle strength and function (PMID: 10357897, PMID: 35942699). A DST fusion with MET has been identified in non-small lung cancer (PMID: 36806896), and increased Dst expression has been identified in pediatric MYCN non-amplified neuroblastoma (PMID: 34116676). | ||||||||||
