| Gene Description | TRIO, trio Rho guanosine nucleotide exchange factor, promotes the exchange of GDP for GTP to activate Rho GTPases and plays a role in cellular functions related to growth and migration including cytoskeletal remodeling, neurite outgrowth, and axon guidance (PMID: 11146652, PMID: 11864571, PMID: 10798396, PMID: 8643598). Amplification and overexpression of TRIO has been associated with soft tissue sarcoma (PMID: 16752383) and urinary bladder cancer (PMID: 15215162), a TRIO fusion with TERT has been identified in spindle cell liposarcoma (PMID: 30793229), and TRIO mutations have been identified in gastric cancer and colon cancer (PMID: 28224356). | ||||||||||
