| Gene Description | XPC, XPC complex subunit, DNA damage recognition and repair factor, is a component of a complex that recognizes DNA damage and initiates global genome nucleotide excision repair (NER) (PMID: 26042670, PMID: 12509299, PMID: 20028083). Inactivation of XPC leads to xeroderma pigmentosum, which is associated with an increased risk of skin cancer and other malignancies (PMID: 21763452, PMID: 31843141). | ||||||||||
