Gene Description

TP63, tumor protein p63, is a paralog of TP53 and TP73 transcription factors and is involved in regulating cell cycle arrest and apoptosis (PMID: 21760596, PMID: 24488880). TP63 is expressed as multiple isoforms, including some with opposing activities (PMID: 21760596, PMID: 24488880, PMID: 31927310), and is overexpressed in several tumor types, including muscle-invasive bladder cancer (PMID: 31927310), and TP63 rearrangements have been observed in T cell lymphomas (PMID: 31557339).
