| Gene Description | NHERF1, NHERF family PDZ scaffold protein 1, encodes a scaffold protein that links membrane-associated proteins with the actin cytoskeleton and is involved in regulation of cellular signaling, growth, migration, invasion, and autophagy (PMID: 26218645, PMID: 26788197, PMID: 31984791). NHERF1 mutations, decreased expression, or loss of cell membrane localization have been identified in several tumor types (PMID: 28068322), including, breast (PMID: 30326259), ovarian (PMID: 26788197), renal (PMID: 33965858), and colorectal cancers (PMID: 31867736). | ||||||||||
